Late Nights and Loneliness

Anonymous Winking Fox #607 · General

I work the night shift at a small café downtown. Most nights are quiet, just me with my thoughts until the morning rush picks up again around four. I keep telling myself that once things get busier, it won't feel so lonely anymore. But lately, no matter how many customers come in and out, there's still this emptiness inside when the clock ticks past midnight. It makes me wonder if everyone is just like me, feeling lost somewhere between dusk and dawn. Does anyone else find solace or dread in these quiet hours? I'd love to hear from others who work through the night.
