when my friend got me into trouble

sooo i was hanging out w/ ashley at lunch n she had this whole plan to prank mr parker our phys ed teacher. its not that i think hes super mean or anything, he’s just kinda strict n always says stuff like “no one cares about your feelings” when we ask for time off fr skateboarding tournaments which is bs bc ppl do care about other peeps’ feels rite? anyways, so she had this idea to hide a buncha water balloons in the gym locker room and let mr parker walk in n slip. i was nervous cuz it could get us both suspended but ashley says its worth it for payback. i mean honestly he never lets us do anything fun in class just stretches or calisthenics, so i kind of got sucked into this cuz i really wanna have a good time once in a while. so we filled up the balloons n hid them all, then during phys ed class when mr parker went to check something in his office ashley told me to do it. i dont know why but i did... now we both are just waiting to get called to the principal’s office and wondering if we r gonna have to face some serious punishment or maybe even worse like having our parents called? im sooo worried bc i really care about what my dad thinks, hes already had enough issues with me skipping classes lately. should i confess to him first before getting in trouble officially? so am i the asshole here? or is this just part of growing up n doing dumb stuff? like if mr parker was a teacher who wasnt strict and actually tried to have fun sometimes would we have even thought about pulling something like this? i’m super confused n stressed out but also kind of excited cuz it’s an adventure. what do u guys think?
