I'm Still Playing Videogames at Work Under My Desk - Am I The Asshole?

So here's my thing, I work in a corporate office setting where any form of video game playing, even if it’s educational or for relaxation purposes, is strictly against the rules. But lately, things have been tough and stressful; deadlines piling up faster than you can blink, and I’ve barely had time to breathe, let alone enjoy my life outside work. That's when I found myself turning back to my old high school hobby, videogames, to help unwind during lunch breaks or those moments when the boss isn’t around. I started small with just short breaks between meetings on my phone, then moved onto my laptop at my desk when things got hectic. Fast-forward a couple of months and I’ve developed a pretty solid system: headphones, keyboard under the desk, quick save points so nothing gets messed up during important calls or emails. It's become more than just a stress reliever; it’s almost like therapy now. But today was different. My manager asked me to work on this massive project solo, and I had some spare time before we got started on the actual heavy lifting. That's when I decided to indulge in my little secret for longer than usual, I was so caught up in leveling up my character that it felt like five minutes but only a few seconds passed. Then, just as I was about to log out and get back to work, the dreaded knock came: one of our interns entered my office with some documents. Her eyes went wide when she saw my screen, it looked like something from another world, and before I knew it, the whole office was buzzing with people stopping by my desk just to see what had me so engrossed during a supposedly busy work period. Now everyone knows about this thing that helps me manage stress and boosts my mood throughout the day. My manager is already asking for feedback on how they can incorporate more breaks or team-building activities based on popular games, but I have this sinking feeling it might not go over well with higher-ups. So here’s where I am now: should I come clean about what was really happening, even though I think gaming secretly has helped my overall performance? Or do I play along and potentially change the workplace culture for good? What would you guys do in this situation?
