The Bartender's Embarrassing Mix-Up Night

So, there I was last Friday night at the local bar, swamped like always. It’s the kind of place where everyone knows each other, but still wants to be anonymous behind their drinks and conversations. Now, let me set up what happened first because context is everything in these stories. I had this regular customer named Mike who comes in every weekend with his buddies from work. He's not my favorite person for various reasons, but he does keep coming back so I've learned to deal with him. Anyways, the night starts off pretty normally until about 10 PM when a new group of people shows up, this girl named Lisa and her friends. They're always fun, cheerful, and never give me any trouble. Fast forward an hour or two, and it's just starting to get really busy. I’m juggling several orders in my head and trying not to drop too many glasses while keeping the mood light for everyone. That’s when things go south. Mike gets his usual, a round of vodka sodas with lime, which he always requests with extra lime because 'the limes make all the difference.' Now, Lisa's group is just finishing their last order and asks me to put some special ingredients in their next drink as they won't be around much longer. Now here comes the tricky part. I was already tired from dealing with earlier chaos, so while preparing Mike’s drinks, my mind kind of went on autopilot thinking about Lisa's group and their extra requests. The result? I put an absurd amount of extra lime juice in every single drink for Mike's round instead of his usual vodka sodas. Mike gets his order and starts drinking what he believes to be just normal vodka sodas, but let me tell you, those things were as sour as lemons by the time he drank half of them. He wrinkles up his nose like he tasted something gone bad in a freezer. The look on his face was priceless! It quickly turned from confusion to suspicion as I tried not to laugh at his reaction while pretending everything was fine. I thought it would blow over soon, but after about five minutes of everyone staring and Mike complaining quietly under his breath, he storms off without finishing any more drinks. His buddies look at me like they're about to break out into laughter too, so I quickly try to make amends by giving them a free round, hoping for the best. Anyway, that’s my big embarrassing mix-up of a night. Now when people ask why Mike hasn't been around lately, I just tell them it must be a busy week at work or something. And that's how you handle awkward moments in the bar world, I suppose.
