Moving In Lies

So I moved to this new city for work last month and it’s been one big learning experience. Met some cool folks at the office but uh... I don't own a car yet, so public transport is my jam. Anyway, I got invited by this nice lady from work to check out her weekend house party in the suburbs. She casually mentions parking is tricky because most people have driveways and she doesn't want me stressing about it. I laugh it off but inwardly freak out... what if I don’t find a spot? What if everyone knows someone with a driveway? So, I blurt out 'Oh no worries, I can park on the street easily!' And then leave thinking oh god did that sound like I have my own car? Now every time we hang out she's all like 'So how are things with your new car?' and it’s... awkward. I’ve got a month of lies about my non-existent vehicle under my belt now, because once I started I couldn’t stop. It's probably fine but still feels like a teeny bit of guilt building up inside me every time. Yeah, moving comes with its own set of challenges...
