I'm A Bit Of A Liar When It Comes To Age

My friends at the senior center were all talking about a special event that was only for people over 75. I looked at my calendar, and it just so happened I would turn 74 in less than a month. There’s nothing worse than being excluded from an activity you’re interested in because of something as arbitrary as your age. Plus, most of the others already thought I look older than I am. So when they were discussing how to sign up for the event, and asked me if I was eligible, I blurted out that I’d be 75 soon enough. I’m sure it’s only a matter of days before someone does the math. But until then, I can enjoy these moments thinking about what fun things are ahead for me, even though I’ll technically still be under the age limit for this event. Maybe one day they’ll extend the eligibility to 74-year-olds like myself. After all, we’re a growing demographic.
