When They Outgrow Us
Anonymous Sassy Charmer #536 · General
Sometimes I catch myself looking at my kids like they're strangers in a different life. You know, those moments when they start talking about stuff like quantum physics or TikTok challenges and you feel so clueless it hurts. One day, Sarah was explaining something on her phone and all I could think was, 'She's growing up way too fast!' It made me sad because I remember the days when she would ask for help tying her shoelaces or wanted to cuddle after a nightmare. Now she barely looks at me unless it’s about a problem with school or friends. But then, I saw her hug little Timmy and teach him how to ride his bike without training wheels, just like I did for her when she was younger. And that made me feel a bit better because I guess we’re all here to help the next generation outgrow us in their own way.
