I'm Afraid to Talk to Strangers in My New City
Anonymous Cunning Fox #466 · General
Since moving to this new city, I've been so anxious about talking to anyone. It's like every little interaction feels huge and scary. The other day, my neighbor saw me carrying groceries up the stairs but I froze and couldn't even say hi back when they waved. I just kept walking as fast as I could without dropping anything. In my head, everyone is judging how weird I am because of my sudden move. Even at work, I keep quiet instead of asking for help from my new coworkers. It's silly, right? Because talking to people isn't a big deal in the places I've lived before, but now it feels like this huge hurdle I can’t get over.
