i spilled that expensive scotch

man i feel so bad about what happened last night at work. had this customer who was like a regular and always asks for the good stuff. usually no big deal, but this time he wanted an imported scotch that costs more than my rent. it's one of those bottles where you can barely see inside through the dark amber color, looks fancy as hell. so i pour him a generous pour in his rocks glass just like usual, only when i pull away i don't notice it right away but i left the bottle resting against the rim of the glass and slowly started pouring more and more back into the bottle until suddenly it's way too full, spilling this precious liquid all over my counter. needless to say the customer was not happy, and now i've got a lot of cleaning up to do and probably a demerit on my record from management for wasting such an expensive pour. oh well, live and learn i guess.
