Kids' Book Choices Are Wild Sometimes

So here's the thing. My kids have this obsession with these really odd books that are basically just a series of bizarre drawings without any words at all. I mean, they look like some kind of nightmare-scene sketchbook from an abstract artist who got way too high. The titles are usually something like 'The Enchanted Blob' or 'Journey to the Floating Whisk'. And let me tell you, every time we're out and one of them suggests reading it, my heart just sinks a little bit. But I try to be supportive because who am I to judge what kind of imaginative fuel they need? So there I am, sitting with them on the living room floor, trying to act like this random scribble of lines that vaguely looks like a cat riding an escalator is as exciting as any other bedtime story. And you know what, sometimes it works! They get all giggly and talk about their theories on why the blobs are having tea parties underwater or something equally nonsensical but hilariously imaginative. It's moments like these that remind me just how wild imagination can be.
