Moved to the Big City and Got Lost on Day One

So I recently moved to this big city for work, you know, that kind of thing. Everything was going well until yesterday when I had to go pick up my laptop from a repair shop downtown. I got there and realized I didn't really know where the place is or even how to get back home afterward. So, I did what any sensible person would do, I asked a nice stranger for directions but fibbed about where I was going next. I said I had another appointment around the corner, but really, my apartment complex was miles away and in the opposite direction of downtown. Now every time I think about that poor guy who probably thought I was some kind of lunatic, it just makes me chuckle. But honestly, I feel a bit embarrassed too, next time maybe I should bring a map or use Google Maps like everyone else.
