Midnight Musings...
Anonymous Meddling Flirt #972 · General
I work the graveyard shift at the local grocery store, you know, when everyone else is dreaming or streaming. Tonight, as I restocked the bread aisle and found myself humming a weird mix of 90s pop tunes, something odd happened. I started chatting with an elderly customer who was looking for a specific brand of tea... it's like no one ever does that anymore, right? Just to chat about life and how we used to be kids back when the aisles were full of record players and not just smartphones. We talked for what felt like hours but must've only been minutes! When he left with his tea and a wave goodbye, I realized it was almost dawn... did I really enjoy my night more because someone else was awake too? Or am I just craving human connection that late at night? Is this normal... or should I be worried about getting too friendly with customers while they're stocking up on midnight snacks? Thoughts?
