I'm Not Great At Hiding My Laziness

So I’ve been trying this whole thing out college living solo and it’s basically a full-time job. You gotta do laundry, cook meals, take out the trash, basically all the stuff your parents used to nag you about for years. But here's the kicker: my mom still texts me every day at 7 PM asking if I did my laundry. And because I’m so good at multitasking (sarcasm alert), instead of just replying ‘yes’ and lying through my teeth, I’ve been coming up with creative excuses like ‘my washing machine broke down again’ or ‘the laundromat is closed due to some freak weather event.’ It’s like a daily game of fibbing. I’m telling myself it's because I don’t want her stressing about me being a slob (because who really enjoys clean clothes anyway?), but let’s be real, it’s just so I can keep my lazy streak going. And for the record, if there were any actual freak weather events at play here, I’d probably still find a way to lie my way out of doing laundry.
