New City Blues

I just moved to this big city and I’m still trying to figure out why exactly. Was it supposed to be better than my old small town? More opportunities, I guess, but right now it feels like a maze with everyone speeding past me in their suits. Today I got lost walking from the subway to my new office and ended up at this weird park full of chess tables and old men shouting numbers. It’s not bad, just unexpected. Maybe moving was about finding what I’m missing, or maybe I’ll find out it’s still back home when I stop daydreaming.
