Why Do I Feel This Way?
Anonymous Scandalous Charmer #578 · Crushes & Flirting
So here's this thing that's been bugging me for weeks. In my philosophy class, there's this guy named Liam who always has the most insightful comments. It's like every time he speaks up, it feels as if a lightbulb goes off in my head and all these new ideas just appear out of nowhere. But you know what's funny? I actually hate his politics, we're polar opposites on almost everything. Yet there's something about him that keeps drawing me back to the conversation when he talks. It’s like intellectual admiration has some sort of magnetic pull on my heart or something. So here’s where things get really confusing: I find myself writing down quotes from our class readings just so I can share them with Liam after class, but I end up never saying a word because I'm convinced he doesn't even notice me. And here's the weird part, when we have a debate and my views clash with his, I still feel this stupid urge to nod along in agreement... Is it normal for someone to get so caught up in liking another person’s ideas, even if they don’t agree on much else? Am I just being silly or is there something more going on here?
