My Work Setup Went Too Far and My Neighbor Called the Police

So I've been working from home for the past year or so. When you're freelancing full-time, it helps to have your own space that's dedicated just to work. I have a tiny fountain that plays nature sounds all day long, which supposedly helps with concentration and relaxation. And don't get me started on the full spectrum lighting system I installed just for my work corner, there are studies claiming it boosts productivity. But here's where things got a bit too wild: I found these speakers that emit ultrasonic waves at frequencies only dogs can hear but are supposedly calming to humans. Yes, you read right. It was all going great until one day, I left the 'dog repelling' sounds on full blast for hours. You know how your neighbors always complain about loud music? Well, turns out they were complaining because of ultrasonic noises that no human can hear, except dogs bark back and then everyone gets curious. Long story short, my neighbor called me up furious, but I couldn't figure out why until I realized what it was all about. She looked at me like I'd lost my mind when she found out it wasn't a real issue, just a sound thing only canines could pick up on. I tried to explain everything, the calming effects of ultrasonic waves, the benefits of ambient nature sounds, but let's be honest, there’s no way to explain something as odd as that without sounding like an eccentric hermit with too much tech.
