workplace drama with john

i was working on this project with john and i really wanted to do it my way but he kept pushing his ideas which were totally wrong for the user base. i got so frustrated that one day i told him some of his work was bad and it just escalated from there. we both got pulled into a meeting where hr had to mediate between us. it was such a mess and i feel bad because now people think i'm difficult to work with even though john was being really pushy too.
