My Tiny Lie About My Coffee Level

Anonymous Cunning Grinner #258 · General

You know that feeling when you're at the end of your night shift but you still have a couple more hours to go and suddenly you realize you haven't had a cup of coffee for what feels like an eternity? Yeah, it's one of those moments. So I've been known to tell my coworkers who come in during their breaks that I already made a fresh pot for myself and they should totally help themselves to some if they're feeling tired too. It might seem silly but there’s something about lying that makes me feel all jittery inside, like I’m getting away with something big! Plus, it's this little moment of power, I can stretch out my last bit of coffee for a while longer and maybe even get to drink it cold at the end of my shift, which is pretty disgusting but somehow feels rebellious. But seriously, one day someone might actually ask me how much is left and that’s going to be a problem! So I should probably start making friends with decaf or find another way to boost my energy without lying.
