A Small Deception at Work...

So you know how every day we have to take inventory before opening up for customers? Well, there's this one sneaker that always seems to get misplaced. It’s this really popular model and it disappears every week, like magic. I swear someone must be stealing them but no proof ever surfaces. Anyways... One day I was doing my inventory count and realized we were missing yet another pair of these shoes. But here's the thing, there wasn't a customer for miles around that morning. And I just couldn't bear to tell the boss because I knew he'd blame me, and I have enough on my plate already without getting into trouble... So I did something really dumb.... I went into the stock room, grabbed one of those shoes out of a box... Yeah, yeah, it's petty, but let’s be real, we're understaffed and overworked here. The shoe just sort of disappeared back onto the shelves like it never happened. Now every time I walk past that section of the store, I feel this little knot in my stomach.... But hey, what else am I supposed to do? It's not like there’s an easy fix when you're barely keeping your head above water...
