It Was Never a Game Night

I've always been the big sister who tries to make things fair and fun for everyone. But one night when we were younger, I told my siblings that our mom said it was game night, even though she never actually mentioned it... just so we could stay up late and play board games without her knowing. It felt exciting at first, but now as an adult looking back, all I feel is a little guilty for lying about something small to get what I wanted.
