Sometimes I Pretend
Anonymous Winking Meddler #955 · General
I swear, it sounds so silly when I say it out loud, but there are days when I feel like a fraud. You see, whenever I'm at the university coffee shop and the barista asks if they can add more syrup or foam to my drink, I always tell them 'no thanks.' But you know what? Inside, I really want just one small little dollop of caramel... it's so good! It feels like such a tiny thing, but sometimes when no one is looking, I'll pretend it never happened and ask for the extra. I mean, I have my thesis to write and coffee fuels me, right? But then guilt settles in as if I've committed some grand theft... just because of a bit more sugar. It's so pathetic, isn't it?
