When I Made My Younger Sister Cry Because She Got Too Much Birthday Money

Anonymous Smug Flirt #254 · General

So my sister's birthday was yesterday and we always do this thing where the family gets together to celebrate. We've got this tradition of everyone giving her cash, and usually she gets a lot more than anyone else because she's just the little kid who's super excited about everything. This year, though, I saw how much money she had in total, and it was way too much. She looked so proud showing off all that green paper, smiling from ear to ear like it made her cool or something. And yeah, maybe it did because now my younger sister thinks she's better than us older kids who don't get as much on our birthdays. So I decided enough was enough and grabbed a bunch of the money outta her hand and stuffed it back into her card envelope before anyone could see what happened. She looked at me with these big eyes, confused about why I took some of her birthday loot. Next thing you know, she's in tears crying because all this cash she was so happy to receive just moments ago is now gone, and I didn't even care that she cried. I couldn't stand seeing her act like the center of attention with all those bills fluttering around, making it look like she had some kind of wealth or importance just 'cause she got lucky on her birthday this year. I felt pretty good about myself afterward though because now no one thinks my baby sister is suddenly rich or better than anyone else in our family. It might have been mean to take the money and make her cry, but I was trying to teach her a lesson that it's not all about how much money you get for your birthday. And besides, she'll never know who took some of her cash anyway.
