...I Just Can't Keep Up With My Sis...

So my older sister, she's always been super into sports. She runs like five miles a day and plays volleyball on every team out there. And I get that she's good at it...but sometimes it feels like everyone expects me to be just as athletic too, even though all I really want is to read books and play video games instead of going outside or doing anything physical. And then today, we were supposed to go on this hike together with our family. So naturally she had a backpack full of water bottles and snacks, looking like some kind of fitness model while the rest of us were struggling with what we packed...which was not much compared to her giant load. Anyway, I lagged behind pretty bad because I've never really hiked before, but she kept shouting over her shoulder that if I couldn't keep up then maybe I should just turn back and go home. I know it sounds petty, and yeah, maybe my expectations of myself are too low, but seriously, who expects to be as athletic as their big sister right off the bat? It's not like there's a manual or anything. And now every time she brings up sports around me I just feel...stupid compared to her. So here's to hoping this confession helps me figure out how to tell her that it's okay for us both to be different, even if that means sometimes I'm the one sweating buckets and struggling while she breezes ahead...
