I've Been Binging Netflix at Work All Week

So here's the thing. I work in a small accounting firm downtown and my job is pretty much sitting at my desk crunching numbers all day. It can get really repetitive, to be honest. Last week we had this huge audit due, which basically meant every second of our time was accounted for. But guess what? I totally dropped the ball on finishing that audit early, because instead of doing work, I've been binge-watching Netflix like it's nobody’s business. I remember Monday morning started off okay; I thought I’d just watch one episode of “The Crown” to get my day going before diving into some serious spreadsheets. Before I knew it, a full hour had gone by and I was halfway through season two! By the end of the week, I hadn’t really accomplished much at all. I mean, let’s face it, this job is a bit monotonous. And there's always something to distract you on Netflix or social media. But still, binging like that while pretending to be busy? That's probably not my proudest moment. The worst part was having to look at my boss’s confused faces when I hadn’t done half of the work I claimed would be finished. So here I am, confessing all of this because it feels good getting it off my chest and maybe someone else can relate or laugh about how bad we all sometimes need an escape from our daily grind. And hey, at least I’m catching up on some great shows!
