...It's Not Like I'm A Patient Nurse Or Anything....

So yeah, I've been on my feet all day today, dealing with some pretty intense cases. And now...I just can't stop thinking about that one time when a patient accidentally called me by his wife's name in front of everyone...and it was weirdly embarrassing and also oddly endearing because he looked so flustered when I corrected him gently. But then there was this other day where another patient insisted on telling everyone their life story while the rest of us tried to do our rounds...man, that one had me laughing inside even though we had a lot of work to catch up on after. And don't get me started on trying to keep all those medical terms and procedures straight in my head every day without getting them mixed up or forgetting something crucial...whew. It's not like I'm complaining...just needed to vent about how sometimes, this job can feel more like a sitcom than what you'd expect when you signed up for nursing school. And the best part? No matter how many times I tell myself to stay focused and professional...there will always be that one patient or incident that makes me pause and think, 'What am I doing here?' but then reminds me why I started in this field at all....
