Caught in the Glow of the Night Shift Lights

Hey there everyone! So this night-shift thing is kind of a roller coaster. I was working late last night and suddenly had this wild urge to bake cookies, you know? It's like 3 AM, and everyone else is asleep, but my kitchen was lit up like it was noon in there. I got all the ingredients out and started mixing, hoping no one would hear me because the dough was making these strange noises. But as soon as the cookie sheets went into the oven, they beeped so loudly that even my neighbors down the street could've heard it! Of course, when you’re up at odd hours baking like a mad scientist, there’s this magical belief that your cookies will turn out perfect despite the time. So I let them bake and hoped for the best, but when they were finally done and still gooey in the center, I had to admit defeat and eat them anyway because who can resist homemade midnight treats? Now everyone at work thinks I’m some kind of mad baker lady! It’s fun though, and every night now I have this secret hope that maybe tonight will be my 'perfect midnight cookie' night.
