Lunch Is Better with Lies
Anonymous Scandalous Whisperer #886 · General
I told my coworker Sarah that I didn't feel well and couldn't join her for lunch today. In reality, I was too bored to sit through another conversation about how much she loves her cat videos on YouTube. She's a nice person, but sometimes I just need an escape from mundane topics like 'fluffy' and 'cute.' Now here I am, typing away at my desk during lunchtime while secretly scrolling through social media. It feels bad to fib, but also oddly liberating. Why is it that avoiding one boring conversation makes me feel like a liar? Maybe next time, I'll just bring my own entertainment instead of inventing excuses.
