The Truth About the Coffee Stain
Anonymous Meddling Meddler #465 · General
I'm in my 40s now and I've always considered myself pretty responsible. So when a coffee spill happened at work recently and it left a noticeable stain on the carpet, I knew right away that cleaning it up was my job. But something inside me decided to take a different path. After attempting to wipe off the stain with a tissue or two (which obviously didn't help), I quickly moved around it to a cleaner spot of the rug. I then made my way back to my desk and hoped no one would notice until the end of the day. It was such an out-of-character act for me, leaving such a mess without addressing it immediately, that it's been nagging at me ever since. Why did I do this? Was I just feeling lazy or is there something else going on with my work-life balance that I need to address?
