When I Told a White Lie About My Barista Skills
Anonymous Impish Wildcard #360 · General
I've always thought of myself as pretty good at coffee. But then... last week, the new barista started and it was clear they were super fast and knew all the drink orders instantly. So one day, when my manager asked how I was feeling about working with them, I fibbed a bit. I said I felt excited and wanted to learn more from them because it looked like they had so much experience... but really, I kind of felt embarrassed by how slowly I worked in comparison. It's silly, I know. But what if people find out that I don't feel as confident as I let on? How do I move past this embarrassment?
