Forgot My Mom's Birthday While Home for Break

I know this sounds awful, but I completely forgot my mom’s birthday when I came home from college over the break. I was so wrapped up in planning my friends' visit and catching up with everything that I just lost track of time and dates. When I realized it two days later, I felt terrible. I ended up buying her a last-minute card at the drugstore and trying to brush it off as no big deal, but honestly, I’m pretty embarrassed about it. My mom’s birthday is such an important day that I messed up big time.
