My Mistake at Work Has Everyone Watching Me Closely Now

So I started my new job at the accounting firm two weeks ago. It’s pretty quiet and serious, and everyone is very focused on their work, except for me, it seems. Today was a busy day with multiple deadlines, and I had a stack of invoices to review by lunchtime. One particular invoice seemed fishy, but I thought maybe I wasn’t understanding the company policies correctly since I’m still new. So, I asked my coworker Jane for help, who has been quite friendly towards me, if a bit distant lately. She seemed distracted and barely explained it before rushing off to another meeting. I went ahead and marked that invoice as fraudulent in our system anyway because something didn’t feel right to me. After lunch, our boss called us into the conference room for an emergency discussion. It turned out he was informed that one of our clients had received a notification about suspected fraud coming from their account. The client’s team is highly professional and detailed-oriented; they noticed this error immediately. When we were talking it through, everyone looked at me. I tried to defend my decision by mentioning the unusual entry on the invoice, but then Jane piped up and said she had warned me about that exact situation earlier. Turns out, I missed a memo about a temporary change in client billing practices due to currency exchange rates. The whole office is going over invoices now, double-checking every single detail. Now everyone treats me like I’m radioactive, sending emails with red flags and making sure my work aligns perfectly before submitting it. It’s so frustrating because I want to prove myself capable but am feeling the pressure big time.
