That One Time I Wasn't So Honest About My Age

Last week at the community center's senior citizen game night, I felt like everyone was ten years younger than me. A few of us were talking about the best way to keep track of time and I mentioned that my digital watch had a feature where you could switch between 12-hour and 24-hour format. One of the ladies there told me how she set her phone's clock back five minutes so it wouldn't seem like the day was going by so fast. I realized then that if I said something along those lines, everyone would think I'm even older than I am. So when another person asked about my watch, I just smiled and said, 'Oh, I keep track of time in a very old-fashioned way.' I didn't say anything else. Later, I couldn't help but wonder what they thought about me after that little fib. Did it really make such a difference to seem younger? Or was the secret better left untold?
