Lost My Cool At The Coffee Shop

I was at my favorite coffee shop the other day, trying to work on a project that needed quiet concentration. It's this little cozy spot where everyone knows your name and your order. There’s something about those quiet afternoons that really help me focus, so I go there often. Today wasn't one of those days though. A new barista started working there who seemed to think everything was a big joke. I tried to ignore them at first but eventually, it got too much when they laughed loudly during what should have been an almost sacred moment, me trying to write my novel with the sound of rain tapping against the window as the only background noise. I snapped and said, “Would you please quiet down? Can't you see I’m trying to work here?” Their laughter immediately died out, but so did all the good vibes in that cafe. It’s embarrassing how childish I was, yet now it's hard not to laugh at myself whenever I remember it.
