Parental Fumbles

So today was one of those days when you feel like your kids have grown up so much that it's hard to remember how little they used to be. I caught them trying to sneak snacks in after dinner, and it felt weird scolding them because they're big now with their own jobs and everything. But then later on, my daughter wanted me to help her pick out a prom dress, and I just felt like I totally failed at being a mom who knows when to let go. Now she's asking for advice that seems so mature, but it feels like I don't know how to respond without feeling like I'm not up to the job anymore. And this morning, I found an old video of them as little kids playing with my phone and laughing. It made me feel all nostalgic and a bit sad because they're growing up so fast, and there's this part of me that wishes time could just stand still in these moments. But at the same time, I'm proud to see how much they've grown and who they're becoming. So here I am, unsure if I did everything right or not, but mostly just feeling grateful for every moment we've had together.
