I'm a Workaholic Dad

Hey there, fellow confession seekers! So I’m in my early 40s and work more hours than I care to admit. My wife jokes that if our house burned down, the fire department would find me under my desk at the office. It’s not because I love work, though I do enjoy it, but because I’m terrified of failure. When I look up from my computer screen, there’s always someone younger trying to take my place. So every night and weekend, I stay buried in emails and reports. But lately, I’ve noticed that my kids are growing up without me around. They’re starting to resent the man they see at home: the one who can’t tear himself away from his laptop even for dinner. Tonight, they asked when Dad’s coming back home from work, only I was already there but hiding in a corner of the study. This made me think, I need advice! Am I just being paranoid about staying relevant, or is this really what my life has become? How do I find balance and not lose sight of who I am as a dad while still climbing that career ladder?
