i got caught eavesdropping on my students

omg this is gonna sound so bad but i swear it was just out of curiosity. so we had these two kids who were always whispering and giggling in class, like all the time, and i mean all day every single day. anyway, yesterday after school they stayed back to talk about something and i was just chillin at my desk pretending to grade papers when suddenly i heard them talking super quiet from outside my office door. i thought maybe one of them had forgotten a book or smth like that but then they started giggling again and it was like all the blood rushed outta my face! i mean, what if they were plotting something against me? or planning to prank each other in class! so i got real sneaky, leaned against the door, and heard them say stuff like ‘he’s not even listening’ and ‘wait till we get him next time’. honestly felt kinda bad right after but also excited about finding out what they meant. turns out one of them just wanted to borrow a pencil for art class tomorrow! oh my god, it was such an overreaction on my part but i just couldn’t resist trying to catch their secret plans!
