Why Did I Do This?

I just moved into my dorm room and everything was perfectly organized. My desk had its own little study corner, complete with a lamp, notebooks, and pens meticulously placed in the holder. Everything looked so neat that it felt almost...sacred. Then, out of nowhere, I grabbed all of those neatly arranged stationery items and tossed them into my bookcase’s bottom drawer. It's been locked ever since. Why did I do this? Was it because deep down I feared that if everything was too orderly, my college life would be predictable and boring? Or am I just secretly a rebel at heart who needs to defy order once in a while? Now, every time I open the drawer, I see those items staring back at me like they're judging my sudden bout of chaos. But here's the thing: everything still feels weirdly balanced and calm. Maybe this was a way for me to assert control over one small aspect of my new life before it overwhelms me? Now that I've written about it, maybe I should just organize it all again but leave out something like...an empty water bottle or crumpled paper. Just so there’s always room for a bit of mess.
