The Great Cookie Caper

Hey everyone, it's me, Lisa, your average cashier from the local convenience store. I have to admit something funny that happened a while back. You see, our boss Mr. Johnson is obsessed with keeping everything spotlessly clean and neat, especially the snack aisle where all the sugary goodness lives. Now, being human (and having a bit of a sweet tooth myself), one day after closing time, I noticed there was only one chocolate chip cookie left in the display case. This little lone cookie looked so sad, sitting there by itself while everyone else had gone home with their bags full. Now, here's where things get a tiny bit sneaky and super funny later on: instead of eating it or taking it for myself (which would've been perfectly acceptable since I was closing up), I decided to take that cookie and hide it behind the soda machine. You know, just in case someone came back late night hungry after work like me. But then, here's where I laugh at myself, the next day Mr. Johnson noticed a missing cookie during his rounds. He looked so puzzled and worried about the 'sudden decrease' in inventory that he started questioning everyone! He was getting to me, asking if anything seemed off or strange last night. And you know what? The more I played along innocently, saying everything seemed fine, the funnier it got! Mr. Johnson even made an announcement to all staff about being extra careful with our snacks because of some kind of phantom cookie thief that we just couldn't catch. It was hilarious but also a bit embarrassing when I realized he thought one of us might be secretly stealing cookies instead of someone just wanting to save the last one for later. Anyway, ever since then, whenever there's only one cookie left at closing time, I make sure to tell Mr. Johnson about it before hiding them behind the sodas, just so we don't have another mystery snack disappearance next week!
