My Secret Journal Got Found by My Mom

I know I should've been more careful with my secrets. I've got this little blue notebook where I write down everything that's on my mind, you know? But it's just for me, until one day, I left it open on my desk when I went downstairs to get a snack. And Mom found it while she was looking for something else. She read through some of the stuff about how much I wish we could live somewhere cooler than this small town and maybe have friends who aren't always so cliquey at school. When she came back upstairs, she said she understood, but also that I need to work on being more optimistic. I felt awful after that. What's worse is now every time I see her in the house or when we're driving somewhere together, I just feel super self-conscious and worried she's thinking about everything else I've written down in there.
