My Secret Snack Drawer

Anonymous Shifty Whisperer #265 · General

Okay, I know this isn't exactly rocket science or scandalous, but I've had this thing with my secret snack drawer at work for years and it's killing me. So every night after closing, when the bar is dead quiet and dark except for the flickering of the empty bottles reflected in the mirrors, I sneak into my little hidden corner behind the fridge where no one ever goes. There’s a small metal drawer that holds more than just soda cans or emergency supplies, it’s brimming with all kinds of junk food: cookies, candy bars, chips, you name it. I've got this weird fear that someone will discover what's inside and judge me for having such a stash, even though the bar closes at 2 AM on weekends and no one has ever ventured near my secret snack spot. It’s been there since day one of my bartending career and I’ve managed to keep it under wraps, but honestly, I’m surprised every night when I pull out a Kit Kat or some chocolate-covered peanuts that this long-standing secret hasn't blown up in my face. The worst part is the guilt, it's like stealing from the company, even if no one cares about it. So here’s me, just admitting to myself and maybe the universe at large: I’ve got this weird little snack drawer addiction at work, and I don’t know how long I can keep it up without feeling terrible.
