New City Blues

So I moved here a couple weeks ago and it's not really what I expected. The first few days were pretty exciting, exploring new places and trying to figure out my new neighborhood. But now that the initial thrill has worn off, I've been feeling a bit lost. There's this one café I found near my apartment that seems like it could be cute in theory, but every time I go there, no matter what hour or day of the week, there are always just these two older guys who sit by themselves and don't really talk to anyone else. It makes me feel weird, like maybe I'm intruding on their space or something. And then there's this park near my place that looked beautiful in pictures online, full of colorful flowers and trees everywhere. But today when I went to check it out, all the flowers were wilted and brown because it's been raining so much recently. It made me feel disappointed somehow. I don't know why exactly; I guess I was hoping for something magical about my new city, even though logically I know that's silly. But then again, isn't everything a bit magical if you look at it the right way? Like how this café could just be a quiet sanctuary for people to read or work without distractions. And the park might not look its best now, but winter will come and go, and spring will bring new life once more. Anyway, I'm trying to keep an open mind and make new friends soon. Maybe that'll help settle in faster.
