a patient's annoying family members

so there was this one patient i had at work last week, older guy, real nice but totally invalid, can't do anything on his own. his kids come to visit every day and it starts with them just sort of sitting in the room not talking or really helping him much, they have these phone things where they talk about all their problems instead of like being here for their dad who needs them right now. then one kid gets up to leave but before he can, the other one spills soda on his shirt and laughs. it's just weird because i mean yeah parents are annoying sometimes but this feels like more than that? and the patient doesn't even seem upset or anything which is really confusing to me. i ask him later if everything ok and he says yes yes, don't worry about it. but how do i not worry about it when they're so disrespectful and just making a mess? should i say something or am i overreacting as the nurse here? what would you all do in my situation?
