A Little White Lie About My Age

Well, today was one of those days when you feel a little old and just want to be younger. I remember telling my friend Lily that I first learned how to ride a bike last year. It's not true, of course, I've been riding since before she was born. But it felt like saying something small, like we could connect over the simplicity of learning together again. Why did I do this? Maybe just because sometimes you want someone else to feel your age or lack thereof. Or maybe it’s because when you're older, even simple things can feel like a new adventure all over again.
