My Secret Love for Jujubes

Anonymous Bold Fox #715 · General

I've always been someone who tries to stay cool and collected. I pride myself on being rational and logical, so it's pretty embarrassing to admit that every time my coworker Jane offers around jujube candies at our morning meeting, my heart starts racing like a kid who just found out about Christmas. It doesn't make sense, jujubes are just small, grape-flavored jelly candies. There's no reason for me to get so excited over them. But there I am, standing in line with everyone else, hand reaching out eagerly while the rest of my brain screams at me to act normal. Why can't I be like everyone else who politely declines or takes one and leaves? It feels childish and petty, but I just can't help myself when those little red and green spheres are within reach.
