Spilled Coffee All Over My Boss's New Shoes

So, uh, there was this time I worked at the bar and spilled coffee all over my boss’s new shoes. He just got them for his birthday or something. It was one of those days where everything goes wrong. The jukebox breaks down twice in an hour, we’re out of salt for margaritas, and the regulars start arguing about football on purpose to see who I’ll kick out first. I’m not clumsy normally, just that day it felt like I was a beginner again or something. Took me three trips with the coffees instead of two because my hands were shaking so bad, and then I slip and spill half on my own shirt and the other half right at his feet. His reaction? He starts laughing so hard he chokes on his own spit. Yes, you read that right, choking. And after the coffee incident, he says ‘If only I’d known how well this place needed a cleaning, I would’ve bought waterproof shoes.’ Of course, everyone’s just staring at me like they’re waiting for the worst to happen. So I try to apologize and ask him what I should do, but he just shakes his head and walks away, probably to get another drink. Later that night, when things start settling down a bit, he comes back in with a big smile and tells everyone about how he’s going to make me buy them waterproof shoes too because ‘who doesn’t need an excuse for fancy new shoes?’ I ended up feeling pretty good after all the stress passed. I mean, sure, it was embarrassing at first, but who can stay upset when your boss starts choking and laughing in front of everyone? And now we both have a fun little story to tell.
