new hobby knitting

totally new here to knitting, started cuz my friend said it was chill and relaxing but i got super into it. now every free moment i want to pick up the needles but its also so frustrating cause i keep dropping stitches. tried to make a scarf for my brother for xmas but ended up making him a hot mess of tangled yarn instead. everyone thinks im gonna grow out of this but honestly, this is one hobby that could stick around for life. anyone else start something new and cant get enough? how do u deal with the frustration part?
