New Job Blues

I just started my first real job and it's been harder than I thought. The commute is grueling, and everyone seems so serious. I miss the free time to read books or watch movies all day. There's this one old guy at work who always tells long stories that no one listens to except me because he's alone. He reminds me of my grandpa, but he’s really just a stranger trying too hard to connect. Today he talked about his cat for ten minutes while I was staring at the clock, thinking about how much time had slipped away.
