messy git commit

i work on a small team of devs and we use git for version control. one day i was in a rush to get a major feature merged before the weekend, so i did some quick work on my branch and pushed it to the repo without really checking if everything was neat or following our standard guidelines. turns out there were a bunch of unnecessary files and outdated comments that should have been removed before pushing. also forgot to rename some temp folders, so now they're sitting there like elephants in the room. when i got back on monday after the weekend, everyone was giving me sideways looks during standup and avoided talking about it directly. i know i messed up big time and could have saved myself a lot of hassle if i had just taken the extra few minutes to review everything properly before committing. oh well, live and learn
