Forgot My Own Advice

So I went to the grocery store the other day and ran into this guy from my dorm. We used to chat a bit in the common room but never really got close, just waved if we saw each other on campus. Anyways, he asked me how my classes were going and I told him I was taking a tough science course that had me pulling all-nighters and barely sleeping. And here's where it gets funny... right after this chat, as I'm browsing the aisles, I bump into these chips at eye level. You know those ones with the catchy name and fun designs on them? Well, despite telling him about my lack of sleep and my focus on studies, I end up buying two bags. Then, later that night when I'm trying to cram in some notes for this big test tomorrow, all it does is distract me more. The chips are so crunchy and salty that every bite takes my mind away from the lecture slides. And you know what else happens? I forget why I even told him about how focused on my studies I was! It's like my brain went into a split personality mode where one part was all study-focused, while the other just wanted those chips. Was it worth lying to myself by not admitting that I still have a weakness for junk food despite knowing better? Maybe... or maybe not. I'm still trying to figure out if being honest with myself about my cravings is more important than keeping up this image of a serious student.
