I Made Up an Excuse to Skip Class Today
Anonymous Impish Gossip #437 · General
So, I have this really intense class on computational linguistics. It's fascinating but grueling. Yesterday, we got a pop quiz, and I barely scraped by. The professor mentioned there would be another one tomorrow, and I just felt utterly drained thinking about it. Instead of studying or catching up, something in me just said, 'What if you could skip this for today?' And then I did the unthinkable: I called my advisor and told her I wasn't feeling well because I had to go pick up an urgent package from the mailroom. It was ridiculous, I saw the package earlier that day when it arrived. But avoiding the quiz seemed worth one small fib. Now, here I am, wondering if lying is truly ever justified, even for something as trivial and temporary as dodging a test.
